Watching the devastation in Haiti makes me feel helpless. I want to do something.....anything to aid in the relief of so many people's lives that have been shattered by this natural disaster. Then, after days of thinking, it came to me. Why not send my leftover grocery money? At the end of the month, when I've come under my $150 budget (because I'm determined to - especially now), I can send what I have left to an organization that is providing relief to the people of Haiti. It is such an overused cliche, but every little bit counts.......and I am so excited that I can be part of that little bit.
Have you thought about what can you do for Haiti?
I am usually skeptical that my money is actually going to where it should, but I do feel confident in recommending these following organizations:
Samaritan's Purse - I have been a participant of Operation Christmas Child for 4 years now and love the work they do....especially around Christmas time. I have no doubt my money will get to Haiti through them.
The American Red Cross - They have been helping those in need for quite a long time and were one of the first organizations on the scene in Haiti.
