Welcome to the first edition of "Fess Up Fridays", a meme started by Kendra at New Life on A Homestead. This is where all those deep housekeeping secrets make their appearance!
Here is my first confession: I do not read recipes all the way through.
You would think that my perfectionist personality would force me to take the time to study a recipe to make sure I get it just right. But I don't. I'm too impatient. This has caused quite a few issues, as you can imagine. :)
The first time I made a Potato Soup recipe, I totally missed the word Drain. Then I proceeded to add 2 more cups of water to my pot and could not understand why I ended up with an extra runny soup mixture. *Slaps forehead*
I also remember the time I was making a special dessert for company coming over that night. I went about mixing my ingredients, and when I finally made my way down to the end of the recipe, it said Chill Overnight. *Bangs head on wall*
Now these words are highlighted on my recipes in a bright yellow so I remember not to make the same mistake next time. Unfortunately, I still have a tendency to regress back into my old habits!

Hey Kalyn... at least you use a recipe. I have had people ask me for a recipe for something I made (I think they are just trying to make me feel good), and I can't give them one, 'cause I didn't use one and didn't write down what I did, so never could do it again. :)
LOL! That's so funny. I'm too afraid to wing it! Thanks for sharing :)
Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest!!
I have trouble seeing the correct quantities in the recipes, imagine my disasters....
Blessings,
Ana
That has happened to me a few times, too!
I do the same thing!
