Journey Through Mark

In addition to finishing up my tabernacle study, Joseph and I have been reading through the Gospel of Mark. We are just about done with the book, but I wanted to share a verse from chapter 15 that becomes really powerful in light of the Old Testament tabernacle.

When Jesus breathed His last breath on the cross, "The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom." (vs. 38)

I had always assumed the phrase was a figure of speech, but the temple curtain that separated the Holy Place from the Holy of Holies literally tore in two! The moment Jesus died, His people had direct access to the Holy of Holies.....to God the Father. No longer did we need the High Priest to intercede once a year on our behalf. We can go through Jesus Christ ourselves!

What an amazing thought!
